The City of Spring Lake Park is planning the rehabilitation of the city’s existing water towers to ensure the continued delivery of safe, reliable drinking water to residents and businesses.

Project Overview

The water tower is a critical part of the City’s water system. It provides storage, maintains water pressure, and supports fire protection throughout the community. Over time, normal wear and aging have impacted the tower’s protective coatings and structural components. This project will restore and strengthen the tower to extend its useful life and maintain system reliability.

What the Project Includes

The rehabilitation work will focus on maintaining and improving the tower’s performance, including:

  • Interior and exterior cleaning and recoating
  • Structural repairs and maintenance
  • Safety and security improvements
  • System upgrades to meet current standards

Why This Project Is Needed

Water towers require periodic rehabilitation to prevent corrosion, protect water quality, and ensure safe operation. Proactively investing in maintenance allows the City to avoid more costly repairs or full replacement in the future. This project is part of the City’s long-term asset management strategy to maintain essential infrastructure.

Benefits to the Community

This project will:

  • Protect drinking water quality
  • Ensure reliable water pressure for homes and businesses
  • Maintain fire protection capabilities
  • Extend the life of a major public asset
  • Reduce long-term costs for taxpayers
